Vrouwen in de kunst

Het thema van de lezing gaat over vrouwelijke kunstenaars van de 17e tot de 21e eeuw. Als je mensen vraagt om 10 vrouwelijke Nederlandse kunstenaars uit deze periode te noemen, komt er vaak geen antwoord. Waarom zijn er zo weinig vrouwelijke kunstenaars bekend en weten de top te bereiken? Hoe komt het dat er meer bekende mannelijke kunstenaars zijn? De conclusies zijn verrassend en nog steeds actueel. Vrouwen hebben geschiedenis geschreven. Met de presentatie wil ik bijdragen aan meer bekendheid van vrouwelijke kunstenaars.
De lezing is 28 juni 2022. Inloop vanaf 19.30 u. en aanvang van de lezing om 20.00 uur.

Lecture in the Cultuurhuis by; Wilhelmien Knapen.
The theme of the lecture is about female artist from the 17th century to the 21st century. If you ask people to name 10 female Dutch artists from this period, there is often no answer. Why are so few female artists known and able to reach the top? How come there are more well-known male artists? The conclusions are surprising and still current. Women made history. With the presentation I want to give more female artists a stage.
